Important information and resources for funeral professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic

Exam Schedule

If you have completed your required apprenticeship duration and reached the required number of cases (25) in each area required, before you can apply to write your provincial written exam.

Examinations are held on the second Tuesday of September and June, and at the discretion of the Board, an additional exam sitting may be offered in January of a given year. Please contact our office via email to kortneyadams@nsbrefd.com, if you wish to learn more or would like to write during the examination time.

Subsequent exam dates are as follows:

June 11, 2024

Accommodations for written examinations

Accommodations for written examinations must be submitted at least 30 days ahead of the exam date, with supporting documentation, as outlined in the Accommodations Policy.

Mortuary Law Exams for those already licensed in another jurisdiction within Canada are written as requested. Please contact our office if you are looking to become licensed in Nova Scotia and are already licensed in another province or territory.
