Important information and resources for funeral professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic

License Transfer from Another Canadian Jurisdiction

If you have an existing license in another province or territory within Canada, and wish to transfer your license to Nova Scotia, you must complete the following:

 

  1. Have the provincial/territorrial authority submit a Letter of Good Standing to the Nova Scotia Board of Registration of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
  2. Submit proof of a valid license in your current province/territory.
  3. Apply to write the Nova Scotia Mortuary Law Exam.
  4. Successfully pass your Mortuary Law Exam with a 75% mark or higher.
  5. Apply for your Nova Scotia License and receive approval from the Board.
