All documentation can be submitted by mail, or email. The Nova Scotia Board of Registration will confirm receipt of your inquiry within 1 - 3 business days. Once the completed application form, applicable fee(s), and supporting documentation have been submitted, a decision will be made within 14 days and this decision will be communicated by mail and/or email. Please note: in extenuating circmstances or during annual renewal periods, there may be an additional delay.
Those wishing to transfer their license from another jurisdiction must successfully complete the Nova Scotia Mortuary Law Examination, meeting the minimum competency grade of 75% or higher. The Acts and Regulations, which make up the Mortury Law Examination and the law portion of the Funeral Director Exam. These Acts and Regulations include:
